Admissions
Primitas Learning Partnership is the Admission Authority for Erasmus Darwin Academy.
As the Admissions Authority, Primitas is responsible for determining the admission arrangements for each Academy for each academic year in line with the Schools Admissions Code published by the Department for Education.
For September 2024 admissions, Primitas requires all academies within the Trust to follow their Local Authority admissions arrangements, which can be found by following the links below:
https://www.staffordshire.gov.uk/Education/Admissions-secondary/Apply/Overview.aspx
Please note that applications from parents/carers must be made to the local authority where they are resident, even if the school is located in another Local Authority area. Should an application be submitted to a Local Authority where the parent/carer is not resident, the parent/carer will be advised to apply directly to their home authority.
Key admissions information for Primitas academies (such as the published PAN and oversubscription criteria) can be found in their current admissions policies, which can be accessed below.

Arrangements for convening such a panel and managing the appeals process, should this be required, shall be in accordance with the School Admission Appeals Code and the Local Authority will be commissioned to undertake this work.
Sixth Form Admissions
Students interested in applying for the Academy Sixth Form must meet the general admission criteria as published in the Sixth Form Prospectus. A number of courses specify other particular requirements. In some subjects, a further assessment will be taken at the school during the first 4 weeks of the course. We invite applications from students who wish to apply from other schools to join our Sixth Form.
Please telephone the Sixth Form Administrator, Sam Such, on 01543 685828 or email s.such@eda.staffs.sch.uk to make an appointment.
In Year Admissions
Any parent/carer who wishes to complete an in-year transfer to Erasmus Darwin Academy for their child should contact the school in the first instance.
Further information can also be found on the Staffordshire County Council website.
If you wish to make an application you should complete the in year application form and forward this directly to the academy.
We will advise you of the outcome of your in-year application within 10 school days or at the very latest within 15 school days.
In the event that the place is refused information about the independent appeals process will be detailed in the letter.
