Dear Families

Welcome to Erasmus Darwin Academy website. I am tremendously proud and indeed privileged to be the Headteacher at this incredibly popular and successful Academy.

Erasmus Darwin Academy is built on mutual respect between staff and students and we are proud of the exemplary relationships that we cultivate and enjoy on a daily basis.

Our key value is Excellence and we are passionate about providing a truly excellent education for all of our young people. And for us, an excellent education means a well-rounded education which prepares young people for their future lives as well-rounded citizens in modern Britain. 

Therefore, not only will EDA students be taught the academic knowledge and skills required to prepare them for examination success; they will be also given endless opportunities and huge encouragement to broaden their horizons and develop broader personal, social and emotional skills through participation in an extensive range of extra-curricular activities. Furthermore, they will be actively taught key life values such as manners, gratitude, appreciation and respect. We are a truly inclusive and comprehensive Academy serving the local Burntwood community.

My pledge to all of our families is that we will do all that we can for every single child, every single day that they walk through our gates. Our children will always be at the heart of every decision that we make and we will endeavour to provide your child with the best well-rounded education possible, ready for the challenges that life presents. And we understand that strong relationships between the school and families are crucially important in this process.

Erasmus Darwin Academy is currently one of the highest performing schools locally, regionally and indeed nationally. This is down to our incredibly committed staff who go the extra mile for our children on a daily basis and we are very lucky to have them. If I could turn back time and have my school days again, I would want to attend EDA!
