Erasmus Darwin Academy is a ‘Converter Academy’; the school converted to Academy status on 1st July 2011. The conversion to Academy status was made possible by the Academies Act 2010, which allowed schools graded by OFSTED as ‘Outstanding’ or ‘Good’ with ‘Outstanding’ features to apply for Academy status.
